The Short Version

What Does a Gujarat Gazette Name Change Cost?

A Gujarat Gazette name change through Harsiddhi Services costs ₹3,000 for the Normal plan and ₹5,500 for the Express plan. Both prices are all-inclusive of exactly the same core work — government fees, e-stamp, affidavit drafting, notary, document preparation, application filing and courier. The only cost that sits outside these plans is the newspaper advertisement, which is billed at actual and depends on your city and chosen newspaper, and — in a few specific cases — an additional supporting affidavit.

The only difference between the two plans is processing time. The Normal plan is usually completed in around 45–60 days, while the Express plan is usually completed in up to 30 days. Express is faster because of our expedited internal processing and submission workflow — not because it receives any preferential treatment or priority from the Government. With both plans, you receive your Gazette application acknowledgement number within 24–48 hours after payment, and government publication timelines ultimately depend on government processing.

In one line

Normal ₹3,000 (45–60 days) · Express ₹5,500 (up to 30 days) — identical services, the only difference is speed. Acknowledgement number in 24–48 hrs after payment. Newspaper advertisement is the one charge billed separately, at actual.

Exactly What's Included in Your Fee

No line item is a surprise. Here is everything both packages cover — and the two things that are billed separately.

✅ Included in ₹3,000 / ₹5,500

  • Government fees
  • E-stamp charges
  • Affidavit drafting
  • Notary charges
  • Document preparation
  • Application filing with the Government Press
  • Courier of your Gazette
  • End-to-end guidance and support

➕ Charged separately (only if applicable)

  • Newspaper advertisement — billed at actual; cost depends on your city and chosen newspaper.
  • Additional affidavits — only in cases that genuinely need more than the standard affidavit; identified and told to you upfront, in writing, before any work begins.
  • Additional supporting affidavit — for example, a joint husband-and-wife affidavit when there is no marriage certificate. Only when your case genuinely needs it, and always quoted in advance.

We tell you any separate charge before any work begins — you always approve it first.

We keep you informed throughout by Email and/or WhatsApp, and there are no hidden charges beyond the agreed package price unless you specifically request additional services.
The One Separate Charge

Why the Newspaper Advertisement Is Billed Separately

For most name-change cases, a newspaper advertisement is part of the process. We keep it out of the package price for a simple reason: it is a genuine third-party cost that we cannot fix in advance, because it varies. Rolling a made-up "average" into the fee would either overcharge some people or leave others short — so we bill it at actual and tell you the expected amount before you commit.

The newspaper cost depends on a few practical factors:

Before we proceed, we confirm the exact newspaper cost with you so there is no guesswork. If you'd like an estimate for your specific city, just ask — it takes us a minute to give you a realistic figure.

Tip that saves money and delays

Tell us where you intend to use the Gazette (Aadhaar, PAN, passport, bank, etc.) before drafting. Getting the wording right the first time avoids a re-draft and a second set of charges later.
Our Promise

No Hidden Charges — Ever

🔎 Quoted upfront

You know the full expected cost — package plus newspaper — before any work starts.

✅ You approve extras

🚫 No surprise fees

Government charges are included in the package. There is no separate "convenience" or hidden fee.

Two minutes on WhatsApp or a phone call is all it takes to get a precise, all-in figure for your case.

Consumer Awareness

⚠️ Be Aware: The "₹999 Gazette" Trap

How the trap works

Some operators advertise a gazette name change at "₹999" or "₹1,000–1,100". The full story usually arrives after your documents and advance are with them: suddenly there are "stamp paper charges", "notary charges", "government fees", "urgent processing fees" — demanded again and again, mid-process, when backing out feels impossible. By the end, many people pay far more than an honest all-inclusive quote would ever have been — some of these operators' own websites quietly admit real totals of ₹2,500–₹7,500 in their fine print.

We are absolutely clear about pricing — before any work begins. Our plans are all-inclusive: ₹3,000 (Normal) and ₹5,500 (Express) cover the affidavit, e-stamp, notary, application, filing, government charges, tracking, and three printed copies couriered to you — with a GST invoice for every payment. Only two things ever sit outside the plan, and both are told to you upfront, in writing, in your very first quote: the newspaper advertisement (where applicable — billed at the newspaper's own rate, only after your approval), and, in some cases, additional affidavits where a case genuinely needs more than the standard one. No third thing appears later. Ever.

And the difference you can verify with your own eyes: we are a local, Gujarat-based consultancy — head office at K-117, Hare Krishna Complex, Chhani Jakatnaka Circle, Vadodara. If you want to meet us, walk in and meet us (Mon–Sat, 10–7). A government-approved CSC (ID: 136237240013), GST-registered (24ETLPP2031J1ZM), with a named consultant, public Google reviews and a written guarantee. Anonymous ₹999 websites offer none of that — because none of it survives contact with an unhappy customer.

So be aware: if a price sounds impossibly low, the rest of it hasn't been told to you yet. Get every "all-inclusive" claim in writing — from us, and from anyone else you talk to.

What you'll pay, by situation (2026)

The plan price is the same for everyone — what differs by situation is which of the two exclusions applies, and whether anything extra is genuinely needed. Here's the honest picture for the cases we handle most:

Your situationPlan priceWhat else applies
Single adult — spelling correction or new name₹3,000 Normal / ₹5,500 ExpressNewspaper ad where applicable. Nothing else in a standard case
Surname change after marriage — with marriage certificate₹3,000 / ₹5,500Newspaper ad where applicable
Surname change after marriage — no marriage certificate₹3,000 / ₹5,500Newspaper ad + a joint husband–wife affidavit (quoted upfront, in writing)
Name change after divorce₹3,000 / ₹5,500Newspaper ad where applicable; occasionally an additional affidavit depending on documents
Minor child (school records, certificates)₹3,000 / ₹5,500 per childNewspaper ad where applicable; parental consent documentation reviewed upfront
Two or more family members togetherPer person — each needs their own application and Gazette entryNewspaper ads as applicable; we coordinate the set so records stay consistent
NRI (USA, UK, Canada, UAE, Australia…)₹3,000 / ₹5,500 — same price, fully remoteNewspaper ad where applicable; any embassy/notary costs in your country are paid there, not to us

Whatever your situation, the rule is the same: you get one written, all-in figure — plan plus every applicable extra — before we begin. If a case needs something this table doesn't show, you'll hear it from us first, not discover it later.

The 10 questions to ask anyone before you pay (including us)

Print this, or keep it open on your phone. An honest operator answers all ten without hesitation — and the ₹999 pattern collapses at around question three:

  1. Is your price all-inclusive? Will you confirm that in writing before I pay anything?
  2. Exactly which items are excluded? (There should be a short, specific list — not "depends".)
  3. Does your price include the government fee, e-stamp, affidavit drafting, notary and courier — or are those "actuals" billed later?
  4. What will the newspaper advertisement cost for my city, and do I approve it before it's placed?
  5. Will I receive a GST invoice for every payment?
  6. When do I get my acknowledgement/tracking number, and what exactly does it let me verify?
  7. What happens — and what do I pay — if the application receives an objection or is rejected?
  8. Do you have a physical office I can visit, and who by name is handling my case?
  9. What do I receive on publication — how many printed copies, and is the soft copy included?
  10. Is there a written refund policy I can read before paying?

Our answers to all ten are on this page, the refund policy, and the written guarantee — and we'll happily repeat them in writing on WhatsApp before you pay a rupee. Ask the same of anyone else quoting you. Reviewed and updated: 30 July 2026.

Pricing FAQs

Cost Questions, Answered Honestly

The money questions people ask us most. Still unsure? Call or WhatsApp any time.

How much does a Gujarat Gazette name change cost?
We offer two plans: Normal at ₹3,000 (processing up to 45–60 days) and Express at ₹5,500 (usually up to 30 days). Both are all-inclusive of the same services — government fees, e-stamp, affidavit drafting, notary, document preparation, application filing and courier. The newspaper advertisement is charged separately at actual, and in some cases an additional supporting affidavit may apply — always quoted in advance.
Is the newspaper advertisement included in the price?
No. The newspaper advertisement is billed separately because its cost varies by city, the newspaper chosen, its category and the advertisement size. We confirm the exact amount with you before proceeding, so there's no guesswork.
Are there any hidden charges?
No. Government fees and e-stamp are already inside the package price — there is no separate "processing" or "convenience" charge. The only costs outside the package are the newspaper advertisement and, where genuinely needed, an additional affidavit. Both are explained and approved by you before any work starts.
What's the difference between the Normal and Express plans?
The service and inclusions are identical — the only difference is processing time. Normal (₹3,000) is usually completed in 45–60 days; Express (₹5,500) usually in up to 30 days. Express is faster because of our expedited internal processing and submission workflow — not because it receives any preferential approval or priority from the Government. With both plans you receive your acknowledgement number within 24–48 hours after payment.
When will I receive my acknowledgement number?
Within 24–48 hours after your final payment, on both the Normal and Express plans. The acknowledgement number confirms your Gazette application has been submitted to the Government.
How does payment work — do I pay everything upfront?
No. After you confirm, we email a GST tax invoice and you pay a ₹1,000 security amount to begin. The remaining balance shown on that invoice is paid just before we submit your application to the Government. Everything is on your invoice, with no hidden charges.
What Gazette copies will I receive?
As soon as your Gazette is published, we send the official digital copy (PDF) by Email or WhatsApp. We then courier three printed copies to you: one premium copy on 250 GSM photo paper, plus two standard-paper copies stamped "True Copy".
Why is there an extra charge if I don't have a marriage certificate?
When there's no marriage certificate, a joint husband-and-wife affidavit is often used to support a married-name change. Preparing that additional legal document has its own cost, so it's billed separately. We tell you the amount before we begin, and only recommend it when your case actually needs it.
Do I pay government fees on top of your price?
No. Government fees and e-stamp are already included in the ₹3,000 / ₹5,500 package price. You do not pay them separately.
Does the price change depending on my city or district?
The Gazette service fee is the same across Gujarat. What can differ by city is the newspaper advertisement cost, since newspaper rates vary by location and publication. We assist applicants in all 33 districts at the same package price.
Can I get an exact, all-in quote before committing?
Yes, and we recommend it. Share your case and intended use on WhatsApp or by phone, and we'll give you one clear figure — package plus expected newspaper cost — before any work begins. There's no obligation.
What if my Gazette needs correcting or I need another copy later?
Tell us the situation and we'll advise honestly. Correcting an error or arranging an additional copy is handled case by case; we'll explain what's involved and any cost before proceeding, rather than assuming.
Is the fee refundable if I change my mind?
Once drafting, affidavit preparation, notarisation or government filing has begun, the service is considered started and the fee is generally non-refundable. Please see our Refund Policy for full details, and ask us anything before you commit.
Do you guarantee the name change will be approved?
No responsible service can guarantee government approval. We prepare and file your case accurately to reduce avoidable delays, but the decision to publish always rests with the concerned authority under its own rules. Our fee covers the professional work of preparing and filing your case correctly.
How do I pay and get started?
Message us on WhatsApp at +91 70692 98711 or call +91 70692 98711 / +91 94267 80195. We'll confirm your exact quote, share how to proceed, and begin once you approve. You'll always know the full cost before any work starts.
