How we handle the documents you share with us — carefully, confidentially, and honestly.
Last updated: July 2026
To prepare your Gazette documentation accurately, we review the documents relevant to your case — typically identity documents and any document showing your current name and the target of your update. We ask only for what your case genuinely requires.
We review the documents you provide to understand how your name currently appears, to identify variations across records, and to prepare documentation that matches your intended purpose. This review is a practical consistency check to help your name change go smoothly — it is not, and cannot be, an official authentication of your documents.
We are not the issuing authority for documents such as birth certificates, marriage certificates, school certificates, passports, PAN or Aadhaar, and we cannot verify their authenticity with those authorities. If an error exists in such a document, it may need correcting by the issuing authority before Gazette processing.
Documents you share are used solely to prepare and process the service you have requested, and to comply with any applicable legal requirements. We do not use your documents for unrelated purposes.
We treat your documents and personal information as confidential. We do not sell your information, and we do not disclose it to unrelated third parties except where necessary to complete your service or where required by law. See our Privacy Policy for details.
You can share documents with us in person or through the channels we agree, such as WhatsApp or email. Please share only clear, complete scans of what we request, and avoid sending more sensitive information than the case requires.
We retain documentation for as long as needed to provide your service and to meet legitimate business and legal requirements, after which it is handled in line with our Privacy Policy.
