Your Aadhaar Name-Update Limit Is Exhausted

What's happening

UIDAI permits only a limited number of name updates on an Aadhaar record. If you've used up your permitted updates, the normal online or enrolment-centre route won't let you change the name again — the request has to be considered differently.

Why the limit exists

The cap is designed to prevent repeated name changes on a single Aadhaar. It's a UIDAI policy, not something a consultant can override.

What the exception route involves

1. Visiting an Aadhaar enrolment centre and submitting the update with the required documents.
2. Informing UIDAI / the Regional Office (for example by email or the helpline).
3. The Regional Office reviewing the case and deciding at its discretion.
