Your APAAR ID (also called the ABC ID — the Academic Bank of Credits identifier) is created from your Aadhaar details. So the name on your APAAR is essentially pulled from your Aadhaar record. A mismatch shows up when the name on your Aadhaar doesn't match the name on your school or college records — or when your name has genuinely changed and only some records were updated.
