An LPG / domestic gas connection is held in a consumer's name and is linked, through the distributor and oil company, to KYC and any subsidy. A name that differs from your Aadhaar or bank can affect subsidy transfer and verification.
A minor correction is usually handled by the distributor with a supporting document. A genuine name change β or a transfer of the connection name β is often supported by recognised proof such as a Gujarat Gazette.

An LPG connection matters beyond the cylinder: it is tied to the DBTL subsidy paid into a bank account and to Aadhaar-based KYC. When the name on the gas connection does not match the bank account or the Aadhaar it is linked to, the subsidy can stop reaching you, and a KYC refresh can bounce β a small mismatch with a monthly, visible consequence.
The name on a connection is updated by your distributor, under the oil-marketing company's process. Two situations are common. A transfer of the connection β for example into a spouse's name after marriage, or to a family member β follows the distributor's transfer procedure. A change or correction of your own name is supported by recognised proof; for a formal change, a Gazette establishes it so the connection, the linked bank account and Aadhaar all agree and the subsidy flows correctly.
The practical test is whether the three names β gas connection, bank account receiving the subsidy, and Aadhaar β line up. If a subsidy has stopped, a name mismatch among those three is the first thing to check.
