Doctors, nurses, pharmacists and advocates hold council registrations tied to their degree and IDs. Here's how a name update works.
Registered professionals hold a council registration tied to their qualifying degree and identity documents β for example medical, nursing, pharmacy and bar councils. The council record, the degree, and your Aadhaar/PAN are expected to agree, and a new employer or a renewal may verify all three.
A married name that reached your IDs but not the council record is a frequent cause. The council record often follows the degree, which may differ from your Aadhaar; a spelling or initial difference across the records adds to it.
Where a genuine name change is involved, a Gujarat Gazette is commonly the recognised proof used to reconcile the council record with your degree and identity documents. Each council then updates its register under its own procedure, which varies by profession.
We establish one correct name and prepare the documentation to fit your council's requirement. See our council registration problem page and degree certificate guide. Each council decides under its own rules.
Tell us your profession and where the names differ, and we'll prepare the Gazette and documentation to fit your council's procedure.
