School and board certificates carry a student's official name. Here's how corrections work β and why timing is everything.
Education boards (such as the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board) issue the certificates that anchor a student's official name β the admission register, leaving certificate and mark sheets. When these don't match the birth certificate or Aadhaar, it surfaces at exam registration, admission or scholarship time.
A minor error can sometimes be corrected directly by the school or board through its own process. A larger change usually needs recognised proof such as a Gujarat Gazette β and for a minor, the application is made by a parent or legal guardian with consent.
The school or board decides its own record correction under its rules. We prepare the supporting documentation.
With the guardian's documents and consent, we prepare a name change or correction to align the child's academic and identity records. See our minor name change service and the school-certificate problem page.
Tell us your situation and we'll guide you on the right documentation β including whether a Gazette is even needed.
